Kabar, Bishkek, 23 Jul 2008 – President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev received doctor of philosophy, professor of the Catholic University of America John Hogan and editor Maura Donahu, who attended a scientific conference on the subject “Social Memory and Problems of Spirituality in Conditions of Globalization”, organized by the Kyrgyz Economic University.
Welcoming the guests, the head of state thanked them for their participation in the scientific conference and for issuing a book of Gulnara Bakiyeva “Social Memory and the Present” in English.
John Hogan emphasized the book’s importance for philosophic and cultural legacy. “The conference, which we attended, held at the high organized level. Discussions at the conference were useful for all, including scientists of Kyrgyzstan and foreign states”, – said the professor.
Issues of developing science and education as well as cooperation in these fields were discussed at the meeting.
