Astana, 05 Mar 2009, Kazakhstan Today – The population of Kazakhstan for January, 1st, 2009, according to the current data, has been 15 million 778.2 thousand people, the monthly report of the Statistics Agency states.
“The population of the country, as of January, 1st, 2009, according to the current data, has been 15.8 million people. In comparison with January, 2008 it has increased by 1.3 % that is caused by an increase of number of births and decrease of death rate of the population,” the Statistics Agency informs.
According to the Statistics Agency, the number of urban population has amounted to 8423.7 thousand and rural – 7354.5 thousand people.
