IEPF, Baku, 31 Jul 2008 – As we informed with the aim to convey the information about the mine tragedies to the community, the problems faced by mine victims and the general life situation of the mine victims, International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) and the Azerbaijan Mine Victims Association (AMVA) announced the competition on journalist investigation and reporting. The period of competition finished. Jury gathered for last time to look through the submitted articles in 16th of June. At the meeting each points given by jury members collected and winners have been determined. Each jury member estimated the articles on the point of correspondence, comprehensiveness and professionalism accordingly in 1-10 points schedule.
IEPF and AMVA will arrange the presentation ceremony to present the prizes to winners in the Human Rights Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (Address: H.Javid Avenue 31, Academy City).
Generally 20 articles were submitted for the competition, but only 16 articles, fulfilled the competition guidelines have been accepted.
