nCa, Ashgabat, 12 Sep 2008 – Turkmenistan announced Friday creation of ‘Office of International Information’ under the ministry of foreign affairs. This will replace the current department of information and analysis in the foreign office.
The new structure will presumably collect and analyze the media coverage and act as central dissemination agency on behalf of the government of Turkmenistan.
The same presidential decree that authorized establishment of the office of international information has also approved the central structure and staffing of the foreign office and allowed the opening of a branch of the foreign ministry in Turkmenbashy, the Caspian port city of Turkmenistan.
