Armenia: The Editor-in-chief of "Zhamanak-Yerevan" daily's health condition worsened in hospital

A1Plus, Yerevan, 22 Jul 2009 – The health condition of the editor-in-chief of “Zhamanak-Yerevan” daily, Arman Babajanian, has abruptly worsened at the Penitentiary Hospital of the MoJ. Arman Babajanyan needs urgent medical treatment.

The Armenian National Congress (HAK) has issued a statement voicing concern over the health state of the editor-in-chief.

“A few months ago doctors diagnosed Arman Babajanyan with a tumor mass which was ignored during the repeated examination.

A few days ago the cancer proved to have increased to an unbelievable extent. The re-examination showed that the results of the second examination were faked up. Arman Babajanyan’s state is grave and he needs urgent treatment. The court has denied many times the advocates’ motion for Babajanian’s conditional release. His sentence term expires in 45 days,” runs HAK’s statement.

The Congress demands that Arman Babajanyan be immediately released and rendered medical assistance otherwise the acting regime will have to bear the whole responsibility of consequences.
