Adil Soz, Almaty, 15 Jul 2008 – There was legal proceeding of civil case by suit about protection of business reputation and damage of PLC “CIC” (computer information centre) to the newspaper “Vecherniy Almaty”, TV Radio Company “Youzhnaya Stolitsa” and SPC (state production complex) “Vodokanal”.
The charges stemmed from article by Batima Reunova “The problem in charge of accounts for cold water is resolved” in the newspaper “Vecherniy Almaty” on April 03, 2008. Head of SPC “Vodokanal” Anatoliy Prokudin has said that PLC “CIC” provided for JSC “Alseko” non-correct data base. Misunderstandings in calculations with consumers were caused by it. There were any comments, addressed to persons and organizations in the article.
PLC “CIC” demanded to admit untruth information, publish refutation and apologizes for untruth and discredited information in its suit.
PLC “CIC” (plaintiff) made solicitation about dismissal of suit in relation to the newspaper “Vecherniy Almaty”, without consideration.
The legal proceeding is continued in relation to other defendants.
The lawyer of International Foundation for Protection of Freedom of Speech “Adil soz” Ganna Krasilnikova has presented interests of the newspaper “Vecherniy Almaty” and legal support in the court.
